Pixlr tutorial: How to add a logo to your cover photo for your author Facebook Pageġ. When we paste the image into our facebook cover photo, we’re going to want to only paste the letters, not a white background. ![]() So we need to remove the background layer. To remove the background layer, we need to unlock it first. Right click on selected Layer 0 and choose “Delete Layer.” Go over to Layers on the right, find the background layer and double click on the little lock to unlock it.Ģ. The background of your logo will now change to a checkerboard pattern, which means you have a transparent background. Layer 0 will also disappear from your layers box.ģ. Your author logo is saved as a Pixlr image with the file extensions. ![]() But, when we paste the logo onto our facebook cover photo, we’re going to want to be able to move it around as a unit. So we need to flatten the image, which means that we’re going to merge all the layers into one layer. Think of it as gluing all the layers together. If not, click in your logo window to select it.) Make sure you’re working on your logo (over on the right it should show up in your Navigator. You’ll notice that now in the Layers box you only have one layer.Ĥ. Select all, copy, and paste it onto your facebook page cover photo. If you’ve forgotten how to do this, refer back to Pixlr Tutorial: add photo to image: add book covers to your author Facebook page cover photo.ĥ. Now you’re in your logo layer, you can select it and move it around in your Facebook page cover photo until you get it to where you want it. But now that I see it, I think it would look better if the logo was a little smaller. You can shrink just this one layer, but the problem is, since we flattened the image, the type isn’t text anymore, it’s an image of text. So if I shrink or enlarge it I’m going to lose some quality. I also think I’d like to make it white.Ħ. So, while I’m in the Facebook page cover photo, I’m going to use Ctrl + Z to undo placing the image of the logo.ħ. From the menu options, choose “set as wallpaper.” Now decide whether you want to to use your new wallpaper as your home screen background, lock screen or both, and choose the appropriate option. Now I select the logo image box, and I’m going to undo all the way back, (just keep hitting Ctrl + Z) until I undo the merge layers and get my three layers back.Ĩ. Eia oil production by country8/8/2023 The full June 2023 Short-Term Energy Outlook is available on the EIA website. The increase is largely driven by an increase in solar capacity-solar has been the leading source of new electricity generating capacity so far this year. ![]() EIA expects a 24% increase in electricity produced by solar power this summer compared with last summer. So as producers increase their crude oil production in the region, we expect natural gas production to increase as well,” said DeCarolis. “Drilling in the Permian Basin typically produces a blend of hydrocarbons that includes crude oil and natural gas. But associated natural gas production will increase in the Permian Basin in the short term, offsetting decreases in other regions. Natural gas prices at the benchmark Henry Hub are about 70% lower than their peak last year, which is decreasing new gas-only drilling. dry natural gas production reached a record average of 104 billion cubic feet per day in April and expects natural gas production to remain just below that level the rest of the year. Other highlights from the June STEO include: Slower production growth may reflect a combination of the use of capital to increase dividends and repurchase shares instead of investments in new production the effects of tighter labor markets and higher costs and increased pressure on oilfield supply chains. crude oil production will set annual record highs in 20, though growth in domestic crude oil production is slowing. “The petroleum market remains highly uncertain, so we will continue monitoring developments and tracking supply and demand dynamics.”ĮIA expects U.S. “We expect to see demand for travel continue to increase, which drives our forecast for record consumption of petroleum products,” said EIA Administrator Joe DeCarolis. EIA also expects consumption of liquid fuels such as gasoline and jet fuel to establish new record highs in 20, largely driven by non-OECD countries-especially China. In its June Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), EIA forecasts the Brent crude oil price to average $79 per barrel in the second half of 2023 and $84 per barrel in 2024-an increase of $1 per barrel and $9 per barrel from last month’s forecasts, respectively.ĭespite the OPEC+ extension and Saudi Arabia’s additional cuts, EIA expects overall growth in global oil production in 20, led by increased production from non-OPEC countries. ![]() Energy Information Administration (EIA) expects global oil production to be lower than previously expected after OPEC+ announced it will extend its crude oil production cuts through 2024 and Saudi Arabia announced an additional voluntary oil production cut of 1 million barrels per day in July. Farmhouse rustic bathroom ideas8/8/2023 They reflect the entire bathroom, meaning that the complementing light and dark tones are seen everywhere. The exciting look seen here is created by the placement of mirrors on two different walls. Mirrors, Mirrors On The Wall bath area shouldn’t become a house of mirrors, but the ones displayed should reflect the overall atmosphere. This example shows plenty of neutral tones with very little bright color involved. It makes for a warm and inviting bathroom atmosphere, and when accented by a wood-framed mirror, a series of wood shelves supported by rope, and a wicker basket, the entire bathroom takes on a pleasant, comfortable appearance. Hardwood Countertop ceramic or marble countertop can look regal and impressive, but a hardwood countertop says a lot more. The wood frames for the pictures, the woven basket, and the wood sit stool perfectly complement the white wall tone. Toothbrush, a soft white towel, soap dispensers, and portable mirror are laid out in a pleasing manner. This example has all the essentials at the ready. Instead, focus on the overall look, one that is tidy and yet invites all who enter to make themselves at home. Pamper Yourself no need to clutter the bathroom counters with everything from combs and brushes to cotton swabs and makeup kits. Consider a wood-framed mirror and a few glass jars on a wood shelf to create a totally at-home look. The picture frames are of simple wood construct, and this represents the rustic accent. Both of the signs are simple and have a background color that matches the tone of the walls. This creates a soothing, peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a long day.Īdd in a touch of black for drama and contrast and you will have a unique and dynamic bathroom.Getting To The Point example tells it all with large text. It’s best to stick to muted and natural tones for a farmhouse bathroom look.

“We found there are a lot of mathematical connections in kirigami and origami,” Choi says. The study grew out of the team’s previous work in both kirigami and origami - the Japanese art of paper folding. Mahadevan, a professor at Harvard University. “This could help us to make large, kirigami-like façades that can transform their shape to control sunlight, ultraviolet radiation, and be adaptive to their environment.”īecker and Choi are co-authors of the new study, along with Levi Dudte, a quantitative researcher at Optiver, and L. “One of the first applications we thought of was building façades,” says Kaitlyn Becker, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at MIT. There’s also potential to design active materials, for instance as smart coverings for buildings and homes. “But with kirigami, we can actually turn a square shape into a circle shape.”įor engineers, the new method could be used to solve various design problems, such as how a robot can be engineered to transform from one shape to another to carry out a particular task or navigate certain spaces. “People have talked of the square and circle as one of the impossible problems in mathematics: You cannot turn one into the other,” says Gary Choi, a postdoc and instructor in applied mathematics at MIT. With their new method, researchers designed and fabricated a number of transformable, 2D kirigami structures, including a circle that turns into a square, and a triangle that morphs into a heart. The method can be used to determine the angle and length of cuts to make, such that a sheet can transform from one desired shape to another when pulled open and pushed back together, like an intricate, expandable lattice. ![]() ![]() There’s been no blueprint for engineers to determine the pattern of cuts that will transform a material from one desired shape to another - that is, until now.Ī new study in Nature Computational Science presents a general computational strategy that can solve any two-dimensional, kirigami-inspired transformation. For the most part, such inventions are products of from-scratch design. Scientists and engineers have also taken inspiration from kirigami, applying principles from paper-cutting to design robotic grippers, stretchable electronics, water-harvesting sheets, and other shape-shifting materials and devices. In the hands of an artist, kirigami can yield remarkably detailed and delicate replicas of structures in nature, architecture, and more. The Japanese paper craft involves cutting patterns in paper to transform a two-dimensional sheet into an intricate, three-dimensional structure when partially folded. Cutting with the bumpy side up will allow you to see what you are doing.Kirigami takes pop-up books to a whole new level. Glass mosaic tiles usually have small glass ridges on the back side to allow adhesives to bond to the tile more securely, but they can created problems when cutting. To cut the glass tile in a straight line you need to cut quickly, cutting slowly can result in crushing the tile. The wheels of the cutter need to go in the middle of where you want the cut to go. When cutting keep the tool straight (don't get the wobbles) as you can get a curved cut leaning the tool one way or the other.Be careful not to drop this tool as the wheels can move out of alignment which can't be fixed. As you use the wheel and turn it, make successive marks until you have used the wheel. When you first get your nippers draw a line with a permanent marker where you first use them to cut. If you notice the tool becoming dull use an Allen key to loosen the wheels and rotate them slightly. It applies even pressure to the top and bottom of the tile causing the glass to fracture along the lines of the wheels. The two wheels which are made of either steel (cheaper ones) or carbide.Makes cleaner & more predictable cuts when cutting glass than tile nippers.Don't use this tool to cut ceramic or stone because the wheel blades can shatter and break. ![]() ![]() These tool is primarily used for cutting glass tiles, stained glass, smalti, mirror and glass gems.Different kinds of tiles and colours cut differently. If the jaws met they would crush the tile rather than just nipping it. The jaws of nippers don't actually meet. The skill is learning how to control the fracture to achieve the shape you want. When pressure is applied to tiles they will tend to fracture along the path of least resistance, which most often isn't where you want the break to be.You are not actually cutting the tile rather you are trying to control the fracture.Mosaic tiles are cut with different cutting tools depending upon the type of tile. This 'How To' looks at tools for cutting tiles and techniques. The cutting of glass and ceramic tiles is a fundamental mosaic skill that, when mastered, will bring you one step closer to creating the mosaic design that you've envisaged.

Franz lizst.8/7/2023 ![]() After leaving her husband for Liszt, the two lived together and had three children. Liszt never married, but did have a long relationship (40 years!) with Polish Princess, Carolyne Sayn-Wittgenstein they were together from 1847 until he died in 1887.The fourth, written in 1885, was given the title of Bagatelle sans tonalite(Bagatelle without tonality) – which must have been very strange at that time. The three and a half Mephisto Waltzes (the fourth wasn’t finished when he died) were among Liszts’ most famous piano pieces – and immortalised in the 1971 film starring Alan Alda they were written over a thirty year period.Liszt was one of the first composers to see the true value of the percussion section – something we take for granted in modern compositions. A preconceived disinclination and objection top percussion instruments prevails, which is somewhat justified by frequent misuse of them’. In his defence, Liszt wrote the following in a letter, ‘As regards the triangle, I do not deny that it may give offence, especially of struck too strongly and not precisely. But the use of this tiny percussion instrument in Liszt’s First Piano Concerto in E-flat, for a solo part (yes, a solo!) sharpened many a critics quill. A critic reported that ‘In power of tone, he is, perhaps, rather deficient’.
